About me

Follow the way of heart

Being a therapist was never my dream.

Brought up in the competitive environment in China, I was formed to strive for “the best”, most of the time western-oriented, seeking to be better, faster & stronger.

After my studies & first career as an interpreter, it was not enough for me to just “repeat” what others said, even if how to “repeat” faithfully and elegantly could be a big art as well.

I came to Germany and got my MBA (Master of Business Administration) in Munich to be a “real” professional and embraced the business world.

Life was reputable, competitive, financially rewarding, but…I had the feeling it was not me…a part of me was missing.

The wisdom of Chinese medicine and culture

“The search for the missing me” has lasted longer than I expected and carried me further than I’d ever dreamed of. Through medical challenges in my family, with my children and myself, I discovered the wisdom of the medicine & culture from my own roots, which I was so busy running away from. My destiny began to flow in another direction.

In 2014 I completed Natural Therapist training in Germany (Heilpraktiker) and passed the exam to get the licence.

A journey to remember

In the same year, Dr. Li Xin — who became my first Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) teacher later — asked me if I would be willing to work as a volunteer interpreter and accompany a group of Indian barefoot acupuncturists on their TCM learning trip around China. I agreed.

What seemed to be a one-time good deed turned out to be a turning point in my life. Before we left for the journey, Dr. Li advised us to pay attention to the unique essence to success (which is literally “the way of the heart” in Chinese) of each doctor, instead of their technical approach.

In that one month I met many successful TCM doctors from the grassroots to the highly academic. Keeping Dr. Li´s advice in mind, I listened to them carefully, noticed that although their techniques varied, each of them had their own “ways of the heart”, which made them unique. These “ways of the heart” came mostly during spontaneous sentences in casual conversation over a cup of tea, rather than in any official teachings. Because this essence appears so simple, the great doctors themselves simply live it as part of their being instead of conscious expressions of their mind.

This is why I choose to spend time with masters instead of following a set curriculum that might focus solely on learning technical aspects.

My teachers are so different from each other and their instructions vary. Through each of them I retrieved a small missing part of myself. One step after another, I become more and more complete.

Over the years and across the disciplines I have visited on the way, one thing has always stayed the same: I have always functioned as a bridge, helping various sides to connect, understand and benefit from one other, be it cultures or different corporate roles like engineers, sales staff and customers.

Having battled many years myself in the world of raw competition, I understand all too well the pressure, frustration and resulting challenges for one’s health; the longing for health, inner peace and joy. That touches me deeply.

So now in my practice, I wish to serve as a bridge again, bringing together health on physical, psychological and energetic levels, and healing wisdom from the East (acupuncture, Tai Chi) with that from the West (Brennan Healing Science), helping my clients meet the daily challenges of modern life.

Out of that wish, I keep on refining my unique approach.

My unique approach

Multi-dimensional

Like a rainbow comprising many colors, my therapy explores the wholeness of my clients through various techniques and inspirations, from the 4 building blocks (acupuncture, energy consciousness work, Tai Chi and meditation), covering health from many aspects of body, mind and soul, on personal as well as relational levels.

Despite the appearance of physical complaints that often are the reason clients come to me, the solution might reside in any (or all) of these other levels. While there are specialists in all four disciplines who may be more advanced, it is the active combination of the four disciplines that makes my approach unique. I also enjoy my continued journey of learning with masters and teachers in these disciplines, and I evolve my unique approach dynamically over time.

Tailor-made individual solutions based on the constitution of the client

No two snowflakes are the same. How could we then be, with our sophisticated body and all those dimensions beyond? How can we realistically hope to categorise the dysfunctions of such sophisticated and varied systems into simple names of illness and hope to treat them with the same medication?

In the therapy I provide, I try not to evaluate or judge the client, nor enforce any specific knowledge systems, be it western medicine or Chinese medicine.

Instead, I tune into the presence of the client and mindfully follow their lead to identify their needs, through their talking, body movements, and energetic reactions. Does the key lie more on the physical or emotional levels, in the present or in the past? How can I best support them, and with which of my building blocks?

This is like playing a symphony together with my client. We are led by the client’s embodied intelligence, which I follow and support with my acquired knowledge and intuition. Together we progress towards more health and well-being.

This is my unique approach and where my journey has taken me so far. If you resonate with this approach, I would be honored to provide you with company on your journey.
