In acupuncture, there is often an energetic exchange between the practitioner and the patients, which is important for treatment to unfold its full effect. That’s why mindfulness while doing acupuncture is so important in my practice.
I insert the needles in a very mindful way, which minimizes the feeling of insertion. This is more pleasant for the patient and also contributes positively to the success of the treatment.
The energetic exchange between me and the patient already begins when the needle is inserted. My grounding and calm energy help the patient to feel more secure and contribute to the opening of their system for healing.
This means: The more secure a patient feels, the higher in my experience is the body’s willingness to follow the external stimuli of acupuncture. Fear and insecurity, on the other hand, activate (usually unconsciously) the body’s mode of defense – the so-called fight-or-flight reaction – and, according to my observation, significantly reduce the possible healing effects.
After the needles have been set, I do not run to another treatment room to make the most of the time, but stay with the patient. In a meditation together I connect energetically with them to support and promote healing. Afterwards I personally remove the needles and discuss with them how they felt about the treatment and how it can go on after the session.
